Hayley Winter:  Founder of The Institute of Yoga Sports Science®

Hayley is a Yoga Sports Scientist with a scientific background and over 30 years of yoga teaching experience. She has worked with athletes and sports professionals all over the world, from junior to elite athletes. During that time she created Yoga Sports Science® (YSS), developing a unique scientific methodology that has successfully applied yoga into athletic environments. The Institute of Yoga Sports Science® and the professional teacher training courses that she and her team deliver, bridges the gap between yoga and sport. The YSS Case Study research undertaken by students provides efficacy that yoga improves athletic performance. Hayley teaches on the YSS 40 Hour Immersion, 200 and 300 Yoga Sports Coaching™ Courses. 

Dr. Maggie Bunting:  Head of Research 
Location:  Norwich, U.K.

Maggie is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia. Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research within the Faculty of Health at UEA, her expertise in research and clinical education underpins the research curriculum within Yoga Sports Science. Outside of her commitments with the university, Maggie leads the research development and training for the YSS coaches. Students with YSS are supported to undertake a case study of an athlete. Students who have had previous research or academic experience  can be supported to the level that their case study is of publishable quality. Irrespective of experience, Maggie’s role provides students with the constructive and supportive feedback they need to develop and gain confidence in their role as a researcher.

Anthea Sweet: Head of Academic Faculty
Location:  London, U.K.

Anthea is an Advanced Yoga Sports Coach™.  She is also a senior tutor for YSS, bringing the next generations of Yoga Sports Coaches™ through to graduation and into the world of sport. She brings a wealth of expertise, not only from her experience within Yoga Sports Science® but also as a highly qualified Yoga Teacher. She also has a background in body reading, postural analysis and is also a Level 5 qualified Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist as well as Tutor at the North London School of Sports Massage (NLSSM). Anthea provides tutorial support on the YSS 40, 200 and 300 Yoga Sports Coaching™ Courses. Anthea also delivers the YSS IST Days for the British Wheel of Yoga.

Annelize
Location:  Greenwich, C.T, U.S.A.

Bonnie is an Advanced Yoga Sports Coach™ and a senior tutor for YSS.  She shares with YSS students and graduates a wealth of knowledge and expertise from her experience within YSS and 20+ years in the fitness industry as well as being a competitive athlete. Bonnie works with Hayley to provide the YSS graduate community with on-going Continuing Education, advanced training and career support.

Lisa Jackman : Immersion Course Tutor
Location:  South West France

Lisa is an Advanced Yoga Sports Coach™ and brings a wealth of expertise as a qualified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200), Her back ground is a British Gymnastics Women's Artistic Coach.

Vedant Patwardhan: Tutor
Location:  Pune, India

Vedant is a former professional sportsperson, having played National Level Cricket in India. He is also a qualified Yoga Teacher. As a senior YSS Tutor, he brings a distinct perspective through combining his experiences as a professional sportsperson and his expertise in Yoga and Sports Specific Yoga. Vedant is a YSS Tutor on the YSS 40, 200 and 300 Yoga Sports Coaching™ Courses.

Annelize Ferreira:  Consultant Physiotherapist
Location:  Harrogate, U.K.

Annelize is an Advanced Yoga Sports Coach™ and the Consultant Physiotherapist for the Institute of Yoga Sports Science®. As a YSS Senior Tutor she shares her wealth of experience and expertise, not only from within YSS, but also as a Chartered Physiotherapist. She has a Masters in Orthopaedic Medicine, as well as extensive experience of neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation and first-contact management through her work in the Ministry of Defence and private practice. Annelize provides tutorial support on the YSS 40, 200 and 300 Yoga Sports Coaching™ Courses.

Leon Taylor: Athlete Performance Advisor
Location: London, UK

Having trained at an elite level 6 hours a day, 6 days a week for 22 years and participated in 3 Olympic games, Leon is able to offer invaluable insights from the athletes’ perspective. As a practitioner and a teacher of yoga, Leon also understands how yoga can be easily integrated into an athlete’s training schedule, help to prevent injury and increase the performance advantage. Leon is a passionate communicator, an expert in his field and an inspiration to budding Yoga Sports Coaches™ and athletes alike.

Tim Newenham

Tim worked with Hayley at the inception of Yoga Sports Science®. His extensive knowledge and expertise contributed to the development of the Yoga Sports Science® courses. He is one of the UK’s most respected coaches and over the years has been instrumental in the performance development of many of Britain’s top athletes. His coaching career includes five years as GB National Javelin Coach, five years as Strength and Conditioning Coach/Sports Science support to Tim Henman, then going on to work with the winning Le Mans motor racing team. Tim has been involved with the English Institute of Sport (EIS) from its inception to the Beijing Olympics debriefs.
