My background includes serving as a cross-country running coach and yoga instructor of ten years, as well as a fitness instructor for the past five years. In addition to being a certified Yoga Sports Coach and My background as a cross-country running coach and certified yoga instructor (YA 200 hour) of hatha, hot, vinyasa, ashtanga, yoga trapeze, pranayama practices, and meditation, in addition to being a certified resistance training, group exercise, and exercise for older adult fitness instructor (AFLCA) are great compliments to the YSS training I have received.
Having worked with numerous athletes and sports teams at the amateur and collegiate level over the past ten years, the YSS techniques have been an invaluable tool in my yoga and fitness instruction "tool kit." In addition, I am currently working towards being a participant in the 2019 Masters Games in Alberta, competing in the 10km trail run; as an avid runner and functional fitness enthusiast, yoga and the YSS techniques aid significantly in my active recovery routine and ability to compete.

YSS Case Study Research: Volleyball
Aim: To explore whether a Sport-Specific Yoga program could improve the overall flexibility and core strength of a college volleyball player.
Athlete Profile: A 4th-year college volleyball player, 20, male, aiming to increase mental clarity, shoulder and hamstring flexibility and core strength.
The Conclusion: I worked with my athlete for 12 weeks. Over this time he saw increased mobility in his shoulders and hamstrings, increased core strength, but most importantly increased concentration and body awareness, both on and off the court. This assisted in pre-season training as well as mental abilities and his abilities to handle stress where his studies were concerned.
